any positives from a 2-0 series loss ? my thoughts are Ian Bell and Paul Collingwood played well and thats about it . the whole teams pants were pulled down in the last test , and stupid players and dumb thinking lost you the first test , where you should have easily won . any thoughts ??

Improved performance from Jones with gloves and bat, keeping on the sub-contintent not a pleasant thought!

I looked at the statistics from the series and Pakistan's are about twice as good as England's. That really sucks...admmitedly they were in Pakistan on pitches most of them had never played before. We need a bowler like Shoaib in my opinion

Have to say, that the third test match, gave IMO a testing thought to Fletcher and the rest of the selectors.
You had the top 6 batting in their natural positions, and OK in that match, hardly flattered themselves but you could tell they were more comfortable in their batting positions, the question is, do you bring in Strauss (ok a very good test cricketer) and take out either bell or collingwood, or do you stick with them and leave strauss out?
Jones, yes better performance all round, which is exactly what we have been crying out for, and in all fairness so were the selectors (given the amount of chanes he has had)
Udal - waste of space. Yes he had moments, and grand he's got his first test wicket (and serously, good on him) but I would have thought it would be the best opportunity to blood in Louden (who is a far superior batsman than udan AND giles, going on first-class stats) and bring in our potential future test spinner.
Though have to say, I feel sorry for dawson, who has NEVER let his country own when called up!

if udal was ever going to get wickets it would have been in pakistain with a turning wicket. he didnt, give anthor spinner a go , yeah that might mean Richard Dawson !

Dawson is THE MOST underated spinner on the county circuit and part of his ommission must be linked to the fact that he bowls at Headingley a lot, a place massively favouring the seamers, (Gough, Silverwood, Hoggard, White, Sidebottom, Hamilton, all noticed at Headingley and appeared for England). Compared to Vaughan who averaged around the mid 20's for Yorkshire and then went on to be ranked no 1 in the world 18 months later, tells the story, of a seamers wicket.
Just look how good Yorkshires spinners have performed once they left the county (Batty, Middlebrook, Fisher, Stemp etc).
Udal out (should never have been in in first place), Dawson in!!
(Tho keep an eye out for Monty Panesar at Notts)
